Mark Hollister

PROVEN EXPERIENCE

Mark Hollister has proudly served the citizens of Chippewa County for over a decade as a Deputy Sheriff with the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office. Since July 2010, Mark has dedicated his career to protecting the community, upholding the law, and ensuring public safety with professionalism and integrity.

In November 2018, Mark was assigned as the first-ever Courthouse Security Officer for Chippewa County. He continues to serve in that role today, helping maintain a secure and orderly environment within one of the most important public institutions in our county. His leadership in establishing and maintaining courthouse security reflects his ability to take initiative and build strong systems that serve the public.

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

Mark’s commitment to law enforcement is backed by education and formal training:

  • Osseo Fairchild High School, Class of 1988

  • Associate Degree in Criminal Justice, Chippewa Valley Technical College, Eau Claire, WI, 2007

  • 520-Hour Police Recruit Academy Graduate, 2008

 

His academic foundation, combined with hands-on experience, has shaped a well-rounded and highly capable law enforcement professional.

LEADERSHIP & SERVICE BEYOND THE BADGE

Since 2015, he has served as President of the Chippewa County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, representing fellow deputies and advocating for professionalism, fairness, and strong standards within the department.

 

Since 2017, Mark has also served on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Professional Police Association, contributing to statewide conversations on law enforcement policy, officer support, and public safety.

 

In 2023, Mark became a member of the Peer Support Team and now serves as Peer Support Lead. In this role, he helps ensure fellow officers have access to resources and support during challenging times. This work reflects Mark’s belief that strong departments are built on strong people.

As Sheriff of Chippewa County, my mission will be to serve and protect our community with unwavering honesty, integrity, and accountability. I am committed to being actively present within the department and upholding the law fairly. I will treat every individual with respect and dignity and build trust through transparency and ethical leadership. Together, we will continue to keep Chippewa County a safe place to call home and where every citizen feels heard, valued, and protected.
